Benton Harbor High School Mentoring
Pledge Commitment in Progress
Building a strong foundation and a vision for the future for high school students is one key to future success. To facilitate a mentoring program at Benton Harbor High School, Whirlpool employees partnered with Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG), the Michigan affiliate of the national Jobs for America’s Graduates, to provide a structured mentorship program as part of the broader programming JMG provides at BHHS.
The first two years of the program paired students with Whirlpool employees for one-on-one mentoring. A revamp for the 2023- 2024 school year brings group mentoring, development experiences, and after a foundation has been established, the opportunity for one-on-one mentoring to the students.
