Purpose

Whirlpool Corporation strives to  protect our employees, preserve the environment, and ensure physical security throughout our business operations. We are committed to meeting or exceeding all applicable laws and regulatory requirements in the countries and jurisdictions in which we operate.

To achieve the goals of this policy, we are committed to:

Protecting our Employees

  • Prevent work-related injuries and illnesses and preserve emotional well-being for our employees, contractors and visitors to our sites;
  • Adopt and promote processes and behaviors that improve our performance and culture. 

Preserving the Environment

  • Prevent environmental pollution and improve performance by identifying and assessing environmental aspects and impacts, threats and opportunities.
  • Integrate environmental sustainability aspects into business operations, from planning through execution, prioritizing efficient use of energy and natural resources, waste minimization and reduction of carbon footprint.

Maintaining Strong EHS Systems

  • Establish goals, objectives, targets and periodic reviews in all areas related to the management of EHS to drive continual improvement.
  • Allocate resources to implement processes, practices, programs and procedures to support implementation of this policy and the requirements of our We Care Management System.
  • Train our employees and foster active participation and involvement, ensuring shared responsibility for maintaining high EHS standards. 

Ensuring Physical Security

  • Protect our employees, property, and reputation by establishing, resourcing, and continuously improving effective security risk management programs that are integrated with our business.

Whirlpool’s management is responsible for ensuring that this policy is adhered to by all employees and contractors.
