Whirlpool Corporation supports three state-certified apprenticeship programs providing opportunities for on-the-job experiences and educational success. Participants in these programs work through a structured rotation of roles to gain exposure to different skills and processes. At the same time, Whirlpool pays for the apprentice to attend a local community college and obtain an associate’s degree.
Whirlpool’s apprenticeship programs in the Model Shop, Labs and Consumer Service organizations aim to build our talent pipeline with highly skilled apprentices ready to take on the challenges of the future. The Model Shop program, the original of the three, has shown great success with qualified apprentices exiting the program, and the Lab and Consumer Services programs show great promise for the future as they continue to build and expand.”
