The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), a leading voice for the home appliance industry promoting growth and innovation across the industry for more than 50 years, recently recognized two Whirlpool Corporation employees with its AHAM Emerging Leader Award, and named Nathan Mouw, Senior Director of Global Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs at Whirlpool, as Vice Chair of the AHAM Major Appliance Division. Through its leadership in public policy, regulations, standards and research, AHAM helps manufacturers bring efficient, high-performing home appliances into the homes of consumers in the United States, Canada and around the world.

Both represent Whirlpool well and contribute to creating an environment where Whirlpool Corporation and our industry will thrive.

Jason Schmidt and Sean Southard were honored for their work and continued service and industry leadership. The AHAM Emerging Leader Award was created in 2010, and is presented annually to AHAM members who, through volunteer service have made important contributions to the industry. Schmidt and Southard volunteer with AHAM on various regulatory matters. Schmidt serves as a lead on the Major Appliance Division (MAD) Government Relations Council and Southard leads various product specialist discussions on energy-related matters, including standards and test procedures.

Nate Mouw will lead administrative decision making and partner with the AHAM Board of Directors and Chairman to lead operations.

“I am excited to see Jason and Sean recognized for the important work they do to partner with AHAM in advocating for the interest of our company and our industry as a whole.
