Workers at Whirlpool’s KitchenAid plant in Greenville donated checks totalling over $21,000 to three local food pantries Friday afternoon. Funds for the donation were raised by the company’s annual Employee Golf Outing.
Kristy Catarelli, director of Fish Choice Pantry, received a check for $7000 on behalf of the organization. Fish will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year, and as previously reported in The Daily Advocate, is also involved in distributing “mitten trees” at churches and businesses throughout the Darke County area, to facilitate donations of winter clothing.
“This donation is very much needed, and we’re very, very thankful,” Catarelli said. “Whirlpool has always been very generous with their help to the community, and we appreciate their continued support.”
