In collaboration with DAFA, a non-profit organization to distribute and install appliances directly into people’s homes
Whirlpool Corporation, US-based home appliances manufacturer, today announced that it would be donating home appliances to support more than 100 Lebanese families affected by the Beirut Port blast on August 4th.
Among the donated home appliances are washing machines and cookers to help some of those affected try and return to normality.
In order to support those individuals and families affected by the crisis, Whirlpool has partnered with DAFA, a non-profit organisation, to distribute and install washing machines and cookers directly into people’s houses, supporting more than100 families.
“Like the rest of the world, we were devastated to see the impact of the explosion at the Beirut Port. We believe a comfortable, secure and healthy life at home is essential for everyone, and we wanted to play a part in restoring that for those most affected.” Said Gilles Morel, President Whirlpool EMEA and EVP Whirlpool Corporation.
Paulette Yaghobian, Founder at DAFA said: “We are committed to supporting the peo ple of Beirut as they manage the fall-out from this tragic incident and we are pleased to be able to work with Whirlpool and assist them in playing their part to helping the community try to return to some kind of normality.”
