“With more than 30 years in Argentina, Whirlpool has become known as one of the main appliance brands in the country. Now, we seek to be the largest exporter in our industry from the country. Our success is the product of constant and continuous work in research, development and innovation, with a focus on offering the best products to our consumers,” said Carlos Brega.
Exports and jobs
The growth in capacity positions Whirlpool Corp. to become Argentina’s largest exporting company of household appliances, with the capability to finish a washing machine approximately every 40 seconds. It is expected that two thirds of what is manufactured will be exported to Latin America – primarily to Brazil – and generate an annual revenue of more than $50 million. The new plant will create 300 new jobs directly and is expected to also create more than 600 indirect jobs.
“The opening of this plant is a key step in the process of industrial growth of the company in this country. We continue to grow as a leading brand committed to national industry and to the generation of quality employment,”said Martín Castro, director of business for the South Region in Whirlpool Latin America.
Cutting-edge technology and sustainability
The new plant implements World Class Manufacturing, which not only ensures efficiency through the latest cutting-edge technology in global manufacturing, but also allows the development of production based on sustainable operations and practices that guarantee the safety of operators, increase product quality and promote high productivity.
This recently opened production plant will bring multiple benefits to the community, always guaranteeing quality, responsibility and sustainability at every step. In addition, it will incorporate a production process with a very low environmental impact, since it will not have water effluents or gaseous emissions. It also features natural lighting throughout the establishment, achieving better optimization of electricity consumption, among other actions that make it the most modern and sustainable Whirlpool Corporation plant in the world.
