Volunteers from Whirlpool Corporation helped out with the 46th annual Christmas gift-giving program coordinated by Child and Family Services of Michigan. Operation Good Cheer provided gifts for 280 foster kids in Berrien County.
Individuals and groups volunteered to help sort donated gifts, unload presents at the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport in Benton Harbor, coordinate holiday party games, serve food, paint kids’ faces, and many other tasks needed to brighten the holidays for children in foster care. Kevin Sulaiman, Associate Brand Manager and the Marketing engagement team helped set up for the Berrien County holiday party. Kevin most enjoyed “having the opportunity to give back to our community during the holiday season, and to bring joy to those in need.”
Rosa Keszler, Community Relations Specialist, has been involved with Operation Good Cheer for several years. “Reading the kids’ wish lists made me think about how simple some of their requests were when their little lives are in such turmoil….Now I also run the face-painting station at the Christmas party. My two volunteers and I face-painted 300 little faces over the course of the evening. Just knowing that we could brighten their Christmas makes it all worth it.” Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in being a part of the Berrien County Foster kid holiday party.
